GRIEF INSIGHTS
Explore the Journey of Grief
Grief affects us all in different ways, whether it’s emotional, physical, or something deeper. Discover key insights into how grief manifests, from the stages of grief to the unique ways children experience loss. These quick facts and expanded explanations offer a better understanding of what you’re going through—and how to navigate the path ahead.
Grief often follows a pattern known as the Five Stages of Grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. While not everyone experiences these stages or in the same order, understanding them can help make sense of the complex emotions that come with grief.
Five grief stages
Children experience grief differently than adults. They may express it through changes in behavior or play. Providing age-appropriate explanations and a safe space for them to express their feelings can help them navigate their grief.
Kids grieve too.
Grief can manifest physically, causing symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and changes in appetite. It’s important to care for your body during this time by resting, eating well, and seeking medical advice if needed.

Grief isn’t limited to the loss of a loved one. It can also arise from other significant changes like the end of a relationship, losing a job, or moving to a new place. Acknowledging these feelings and allowing yourself to grieve can be a crucial part of healing.
More Than Death
A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
Hello, and welcome to the world of Hi, I’m Grief.
As the author of this book, I wanted to take a moment to connect with you personally. Writing Hi, I’m Grief has been a journey of deep reflection, compassion, and, most importantly, understanding. Grief is something we all encounter at some point in our lives, yet it often feels like an unwelcome visitor that we’re never quite prepared for.
In crafting this story, my hope was to give grief a voice—one that is gentle, kind, and approachable. I wanted to create a companion for readers of all ages, someone who could walk with you through the difficult moments and remind you that it’s okay to feel, to cry, and to remember.
This book was born out of my own experiences with grief and the desire to help others navigate their own. Whether you’re a child, a parent, or someone supporting a loved one through loss, my wish is that Hi, I’m Grief offers comfort and reassurance. It’s a reminder that you are not alone, that your feelings are valid, and that healing, though sometimes slow, is always possible.
Thank you for visiting this space, for exploring these resources, and for taking a step towards understanding and healing. I am honored to share this journey with you, and I hope that Hi, I’m Grief can be a gentle companion in your time of need.
With warmth and understanding,
Calla Walshe
